What is Lufasi Nature Park?
Lufasi Nature Park is one of the last large patches of natural forest in fast-growing Lekki. It was set up to protect urban habitat and give schools, researchers and families a place to learn from nature. Today it works as a mix of nature reserve, animal shelter and weekend escape, and it is one of the most popular day trips on the Lekki-Epe corridor.
Things to do at Lufasi Nature Park
1. Walk the forest trails
Winding paths lead through shaded forest, with benches and seating spots along the way. Go early in the morning for cooler air and the most birdsong.
2. Visit the lakes
The park has two main lakes, Lake Moses and Lake Nora. They are the best spots for photos and a quiet sit-down.
3. Meet the animals
The animal shelter is home to horses, monkeys, goats, tortoises and many bird species. Deer, squirrels and butterflies also live in the forest. Remember this is their home: stay on the trails and wear covered shoes.
4. Cycle on a fat bike
Fat bikes are available for exploring the trails at your own pace. A signed waiver is required, and helmets are provided.
5. Have a picnic
Lawns and lakeside spots make Lufasi one of the best picnic spots in Lagos. Bring your own food and take your rubbish home.
6. Take the kids to the playground
Day visitors with children can use the playground and café. Note that overnight stays at Lufasi Lodges are 13+ on standard dates.
7. Try painting or clay
A resident artist runs painting, clay moulding and thread craft sessions, paid directly to the vendor. Prices start from about ₦15,000 per person.
8. Stay the night in a glamping dome
Day trips end at closing time. Staying overnight lets you see the park at sunrise and after dark, when it is at its most peaceful. See the next section.
